The Herodotus reading group at the Reading Odyssey

I know this is last minute but if you have ever been interested in reading (or re-reading) Herodotus' The Histories, consider signing up for the Reading Odyssey's reading group beginning on September 17, 2014, and running through March 2015. I have participated in several of their reading groups and have found them extremely helpful and fun.

I plan on re-reading The Landmark Series edition alongside the recent Tom Holland and Pamela Mensch translations. I guess there goes my (theoretical) spare time. But I can't think of a better way to spend it. Join us!

Wow, I would love to do this. I have no time in September to start, but since it runs into next March, I might get a late start and try hard to catch up. I'll be reading the readalong posts, certainly!

Scott, definitely go ahead and join the group so you can get information in advance from Dr. Kennedy. It's OK to attend the calls even if you haven't read the section yet…you'll benefit when you do get to reading it!

I have the landmark book and plan on getting to it soon but this is too soon for me!

It looks daunting, doesn't it? I found if I do a little bit every day I cover it … slowly… but I do get through it!
