Recommended instant viewing--Patience: After Sebald
Patience: After Sebald is available for instant viewing on Netflix. Grant Gee's documentary brings to life Sebald's The Rings of Saturn with readings from the book and images of the places mentioned. I wouldn't call it an adaptation of the book...more like an homage and supplement. The movie tends to polarize reviewers, either loving or hating it with conviction, so I recommend watching it so you can come to your own conclusions. I will stress the recommendation to watch it, though.

I got a chance to watch it early this morning. While I enjoyed it a great deal, I think viewers with no knowledge of Sebald might find it heavy going.
Was mulling over canceling Netflix today and now you bring this to my attention. Thanks, I think...
R., agreed. Or if not heavy going at least disconcerting. Which was sort of my feeling first reading Sebald.
