Patti Smith on Roberto Bolaño’s 2666

I am halfway through Roberto Bolaño’s 2666 and I’m still uncertain how I feel about it other than I’ll give it a chance to let all the pieces fit together. In the meantime, here are a couple of posts by Patti Smith on her reading of 2666, among other things. The only recommendation I would make to her is to find a new acupuncturist.

One of my book groups has just started reading "2666." We are also waiting to see what it all means. We meet in San Francisco at the Mechanics Institute Library on Post. A great group of people. Bolano is a very different writer than I have read. We also read "Nazi Literature in the Americas" by Bolano.

I really enjoyed it as I worked my way through it, but in the end I was... let down a little. I won't go into the detail of why because I don't want to spoil it for you. It's a lovely ride and should be fun with a group. I wish I was closer to the city for such a group...sounds like you have fun.

Enjoy, and feel free to post a follow-up on what you thought about it.
