Next book

There are two directions I'm deciding between for the next book: one would be a series of novellas, the other would be another (relatively) short book. If you have any ideas or suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments. Thanks!

I like the idea of a few novellas and short stories, but I'm not ready to line all of them up yet. Examples would be "The Turn of the Screw" and "The Author of Beltraffio" by Henry James, "Madame de Trevmes" by Edith Wharton, "The Portrait of Mr. WH" by Oscar Wilde, and a couple by Tolstoy. Well, I guess I do have them lined up. But I think they may be better interspersed between other books.

My preference for the next book would be “The Great Gatsby” by Fitzgerald. Yeah, I can hear everyone groan. But I’ve never read it, and I figure many that have had to do so in college or high school and didn’t get much out of it. Who can at that age? Plus it’s short, and it gives me an excuse to watch the movie.

Other things on my nightstand lined up for me to read, but I doubt would be of much interest to others, are a couple of early 20th-century Austrian writers (Musil, Wolfe), Greek tragedies, Roman and other histories. Anyway, other suggestions?

Wolfe? Oops... talk about a slip. That should be Roth. Joseph Roth.

Anyway, still waiting for other suggestions, thoughts, brickbats...
